"CREW ROOM" - INFORMATION

Pat Slee, hands over to new ADAA Webmaster - Brenda Baber - after creating the ADAA website about 8 years ago.
It is time for a change from my weird sense of humour and I have many things still to do in my businesses that are taking more and more of my time.
I would like to thank the many troops that have helped me in this adventure over the years and hope that you liked the information provided.
Thanks for the opportunity to help out.. I have enjoyed the time.. See you at the next gathering..

"EQUAL TO THE TASK FROM THE SKY"

"The soldier is not a man of violence.

He carries arms and risks his life
for mistakes not of his making.

He has the merit of being unflinchingly true to his word to the end,
while knowing that he will be forgotten."

Antoine de SAINT EXUPERY

WARNING ORDER.. JULY 2008.. Brisbane
letter in from Kemm Baber

Having recently attended a meeting regarding a function for RACT , RAAOC and RAEME Association members, the following has been decided..

The function will take place on Sat 25th July at Kedron Wavell RSL  as a Dinner with a  theme of a Christmas in Winter. Those attending will be encouraged to dress accordingly with prizes being awarded. There will also be some raffles

Timing is 1830 for 1900. A disc jockey has been booked for Dinner music and dancing for those so inclined.
Costs have not been finalised but are expected to be approx $35 per head

A similar function was held in 2006 with 116 people attending. Less than 10 were RACT. Apparently there was little interest shown by the Truckies at the time. We are planning for 150 people to attend in 2008
I have a further meeting mid Feb, in the meantime Pat could you put a warning order type notice on the website and I will draft something up for the Clipped Wings.

Have a Happy and Safe Christmas and I will be in touch
Regards
Kemm Baber

If you are not reading this because you do not have an internet connection,
know nothing about computers or have decided that computers
are the work of the devil and are NOT for you.
Rather than have you admit that you are simply a cranky old fart these days,
we will continue to mail a copy to you.
or you could ask a 6 year old to help you work a computer...

AND THIS ONE.. "PRE-JUMP"
WITH ATTACHED NOTE FROM JOHN TAYLOR

  • I dug this pic up the other day. I believe we were putting on an airdrop demo for either Staff College, or OCS.
  • 176 was doing the demo, and I think Dick Filewood, as OC 176, was leading the parachutists.
  • Dick is in the middle of the pic, with perhaps Gerry Lieben at the right.
The late Mike Roseblade, could be the 2nd or 3rd on the left.
  • I took the pic on an old steam-driven camera, hence the quality.
  • Any further info, anyone??
